AGENDA ITEMS

  1. Call to Order
  2. Approval of Minutes from last meeting
    1. Two corrections to the previous minutes
      1. No swearing in of a new member on September 4, 2024.
      2. July 2024 minutes should have been approved during the August 2024 meeting.
  3. Old Business
    1. Best Yard contest tabled due to lack of yard photos from the five wards.
    2. Assign members to key positions for Trivia Night.
    3. Flyers and tickets for Trivia Night are ready. Committee members should contact the Chairman for tickets and flyers to be picked up.
  4. New Business
    1. Deborah White resigned on Sept 16, 2024, for personal reasons. Request committee approval to send flowers due to the loss of her brother.
    2. Contacted 25 parents from Berkeley and Holman Elementary Schools for the turkey giveaway, but no RSVPs yet.
    3. Next contact will be attendees from the back-to-school event.
    4. Committee members to submit names and addresses for the turkey giveaway.
    5. Order placed for 30 turkeys, 10 Cornish hens, and 10 turkey breasts for pickup on Nov 16, 2024, at Scott Air Force Base.
    6. Committee members are needed to help unload turkeys at the Civic Center. Pro Styles Barber Shop owner will give out free clothes again at our event.
    7. Begin selling tickets for Trivia Night. Promote the Christmas Vendor Event. Each member is responsible for selling 10 tickets.
    8. Toys for Tots applications open on October 1, 2024. We've paid the Missouri Betterment Registration fee to prove our official status.
    9. Chairman Cole and Commission Crimes to attend the Missouri Betterment Commission conference on Oct 21, 2024, for networking and funding opportunities.
    10. Brainstorm ideas for the rest of the year.
    11. Decide on tangible items we are giving to residents for the Thanksgiving event on Nov 16, 2024; decide on the total number residents we will service for the event
    12. Start selling tickets and promoting Trivia Night and the Christmas Vendor Event
    13. Each committee member will be responsible for selling 10 tickets each event
    14. Ideas for the rest of the year
