Honorable Elias Hindeleh was elected to represent Ward 5 on April 3, 2018.

Councilman Hindeleh has been a resident of the City of Berkeley for 34 years. He has been married to his wife, Carolyn for 34 years. He is the father of one daughter and the grandfather of one grandson.

Councilman Hindeleh studied at Bergen County College in New Jersey. He worked at the University of Missouri-St. Louis as a Library Assistant II in the Thomas Jefferson Library for 37 years and retired from UMSL in 2016.

Councilman Hindeleh served on the Berkeley Civil Service Board in 20018-2009 and 2011-2012. He also served on the Berkeley Betterment Commission.

He served as the Treasurer of the American Arab Association. He is a trustee and serves on the missions committee at Hope Church in Berkeley, Missouri. He is a member of the Gideon International and serves as the Scripture Chairman.
